Symposium on Regulatory B cells as modulators of inflammation
On 26 Januari 2012 Dr Hermelijn Smits and Prof. dr. Maria Yazdanbakhsh organize a symposium on Regulatory B cells as modulators of inflammation. Regulatory B (Breg) cells are a relatively new B cell subset which are able to inhibit inflammation in both autoimmunity and allergy models. Importantly, also human Breg cells have recently been described.
This symposium will introduce the concept of Breg cells as regulators of auto-immune and allergic diseases and the role of parasites in their induction. Novel findings in both mice and men will be highlighted by several featured international and national speakers.
The NRS is one of the co-sponsors of this symposium.
Place: Leiden University Medical Center, Leiden (building 1, first floor, lecture hall 1)
