Longdagen 2012 (English version)
On April 12-14, 2012, the first “Longdagen 2012” scientific conference will be organized by various organizations that are active in the area of respiratory research and care. The meeting location is the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht, and there will be programs both in English and in Dutch.
The Longdagen 2012 is organized by the following organizations:
• Netherlands Respiratory Society/Nederlands Respiratoir Samenwerkingsverband (NRS)
• Nederlandse Vereniging van Artsen voor Longziekten en Tuberculose (NVALT)
• Astma Fonds/Longfonds
• Long Alliantie Nederland (LAN)
• sectie Kinderlongziekten van de Nederlandse Vereniging voor Kindergeneeskunde (SKL-NvK)
• COPD & Astma Huisartsen Advies Groep (CAHAG)
• Nederlandse Vereniging Longfunctie Analisten (NVLA)
On April 12 and 13, the latest developments in the area of respiratory research and care will be discussed during the Longdagen 2012, and the meeting aims to attract a.o. scientists, pulmonologists, pediatricians, family physicians, technicians and health care professionals. On Saturday April 14, a “Publieksdag” will be organized for patients and the general public.
The participating organizations will organize Members Meetings during the Longdagen 2012. The participating organizations aim to make the Longdagen an annual event. Because of this joint initiative, the NRS will not organize a Spring Meeting in 2012.
Program, registration and abstract submission
The program for the Longdagen 2012 is now available, and the meeting is now open for registration for the scientific program of April 12 and 13 (free admission for members of one of the participating organizations; € 75 for non-members), as well as submission of abstracts using the buttons at the bottom of this page. A detailed instruction for registration and abstract submission is available here. NRS members should use our intranet site for registration and abstract submission (log in first using the login button on the upper right corner of this screen); this way they do not have to complete the boxes with name and address details.
The abstract submission closes on March 16, 2012 (23:59h). Those who have submitted an abstract will be notified by e-mail in the second half of March about the details on their presentation (oral or poster). In addition, ten abstracts will be selected for presentation at the Publieksdag on April 14; by submitting an abstract you indicate that when selected you will present your work during the Publieksdag. You will receive support in preparing a poster presentation for the Publieksdag. Researchers who submit an abstract can apply for the Young Investigator Award (sponsored by Chiesi; details will soon be made available) and for the Longdagen Best Oral Presentation award (sponsored by Novartis; details to be confirmed).
Separate registration for the Publieksdag on April 14 is possible through the site of the Astma Fonds/Longfonds (www.astmafonds.nl/longdagen).
