NRS 2nd Spring Meeting
On April 9, the NRS will organize the 2nd Spring Meeting in Amersfoort. The meeting will consist of sessions with top speakers and poster presentations of recent research based on abstracts that were submitted to the meeting. Do not forget to register for the meeting! We prefer that you register through our website (by clicking on the "register-button" on this page), but on-site registration is also possible.
The meeting center (Regardz Meeting Center Eenhoorn, Amersfoort) is conveniently located across the street from the Amersfoort central railway station (street address of the meeting center: Koningin Wilhelminalaan 35, 3818 HN Amersfoort). Click here for more information on the meeting site.
Young researchers (< 36 years) have been invited to apply for the NRS Young Investigator Award sponsored by Chiesi. The winner has been selected based on the quality of the submitted abstract, and the award (€ 5000 to be used for scientific training, meetings etc) will be presented during the NRS 2nd Spring meeting where the winner will give a presentation of his/her work. Click here for detailed information on the award (only in Dutch). The winner has been notified by e-mail and invited to present her data in the special session during the meeting.
In addition to the scientific program, the meeting will also provide NRS members with the opportunity to discuss the NRS plans and strategy during the NRS General Assembly. The agenda for the General Assembly is available on our intranet for members (NRS documents).
The final scientific program is now available here, and includes:
- a session on vascular biology in pulmonary hypertension, COPD and sleep apnea (with international keynote speakers Marc Humbert, Bill MacNee and Patrick Levy);
- a session on gene-disease relationships in pulmonary medicine;
- a session entitled "Beyond the borders of pulmonology" with presentations on immune tolerance in the gut, and innate immunity in pneumococcal pneumonia.
In addition, submitted abstracts will be presented in 4 parallel sessions, and the winner of the NRS Young Investigator award will present his/her work.
